The application page processes an application for a job. Usually the jobs list page has links to the application page of that job – external job boards will also have a link to the application page, and also a special variable to identify which job board the application has come from – so you can track advertising effectiveness.
The application page uses the template ‘app.tpl’ – the default template has examples of all the features available.
The app page is given Smarty variables with all the job details, as well as the standard candidate login information that all pages get.
It also gets info about skills requested for this job, so you can display input boxes for the applicant to enter details of these skills.
Inputs Available In This Page
See the default ‘app.tpl’ for an example, but basically you need to setup a form, and use some hidden variables for the job number and an ‘apply’ indicator, to tell the system this is an application it needs to process. Then the fields you ask the applicant for within the form can be any of the following:
- Email (Mandatory)
- First Name (Mandatory)
- Last Name (Mandatory)
- Contact Phone
- Mobile Phone
- Secondary Email
- Current Industry
- Current Job Function
- Current Position Title
- Resume Upload
- Requested Skills
- Job Alerts (applicant can request for alerts to be sent for new jobs similar to this one)
How do I style the candidate registration page (reg.php)?
The candidate registration page allows candidates to register their details.
It uses the template ‘reg.tpl’ – check the default version for information on how this page works.
